Americans like Canada, dislike Iran
Canada retained its top position as the country viewed most favorably by Americans, while Iran again ranked last in Gallup's annual World Affairs survey according to results released Friday.
Gallup found that seven other countries were viewed favorably by a majority of Americans: Britain (87 percent), Germany (80 percent), Japan (77 percent), Israel (67 percent), India (66 percent), France (63 percent) and Egypt (58 percent).
Those nations with the lowest favorability ratings in the poll included: Afghanistan (18 percent), the Palestinian Authority (20 percent), Yemen (21 percent), Iraq (23 percent), Pakistan (23 percent), Cuba (29 percent), and Saudi Arabia (35 percent).
Americans had mixed views about China, a growing economic rival, with 42 percent viewing it favorably and 53 percent unfavorably. Russia, which saw its favorability rating in 2009 drop to 40 percent most likely due to its war against Georgia, rebounded in this year's survey to 47 percent.

This is just plain ridiculous! I am an Afghan and this is stupid. If you don't like our country then get out! No one is forcing you to fight for us, or yourself for that matter! Also, many of my friends are Iranian, and you not liking them just because of their president is dumb. I'm sorry America, but it's true.
Okay so how does this popularity thing work out? Like is everybody trying to get on America's good side or do they even care? Im not sure.
Because Canada is helping the us on the war on terrisots. It is a good thing we have firends in high places.Thats is good for use but not for them.
I think Canada is just being a big suck up to us. and that their just trying to stay on our good side...and that Canada might not like iran but you can never be sure they could be planning something with them...so we need to watch out for canada and iran and get ready for them cause they could be coming to get us back...But Canada dose have good food...So watch your back America....Thats just what I think about it because thing can happen I'm not saying this to bum the whole story out for you all......
I'm not surprised that the countries that tried, and some succeeded ( 9 11 ), to BOMB us are rated the lowest. i am surprised that Afghanistan only had 18 percent, it should have been less, we hate them more than any body.
This is biased in a way, just because the Americans voted less for Iran doesn't mean that they don't like the country. It just says that they voted based on personal opinion they could be Canadian or anything this is a non factual article, and facts should be researched and reported.
the USA doesn't like Iran because of what they did and because of the war but whats done is done if they keep this up theirs just going to be more war and i dont think canada has gotten in a war with the USA thats wht where friends.
Okay I know a couple people, okay lots, who need to read this and it's comments. I'm Canadian and LOADS of people make fun of me because of it. If Quebec became independent, the rest of Canada would overpower it. We would never unite with the U.S. like that. We have our pride. I don't see how Russia is that low.
why don't we all get along like peas and carrots. That is how we make wars. That is how are loved ones are killed. We should just have a peaceful world with no wars, none of are loved ones killed just peace all over.
