Argentinas Buenos Aires Zoo is showing off its latest brood of white tigers. They are Bengal triplets. They have piercing blue eyes and a playful attitude.

Argentina is a country at the southern end of South America.

The two female cubs have prominent black stripes and tawny white coats. The male is nearly pure white.

Zoo veterinarian Guillermo Weimeyer says they were born three months ago. They are already eating more than two pounds of meat a day.

This is the second set of cubs for the mother, Cleo, and father, Rhiano. Their first brood was taken to other zoos. These cubs will likely leave as well.

A naming contest among children who visit the zoo has already begun.

A zoo in Argentina has white tigers. These tigers happen to be triplets. They were born three months ago at the zoo. Two of these tigers are females and only one is a male. Their names will be decided in a naming contest which had names being suggested by children who come to watch animals.
I enjoyed this article. It may have been short, but it sure was interesting!

White tigers are very rare so this is a somewhat important event. Letting the community name the tigers will give the zoo publicity and more people will come to the zoo to see the white tigers. It is good to have this tigers in captivity where they will not be killed and maybe in later generations they could be relaesed into the wild.
